About the Zero Waste Challenge
Cambridge City Council is running an Environment Fortnight, which is an expanded version of the highly successful Environment Week that was held last year. As part of this event, some of the city councillors have volunteered to put themselves and their families through the rigorous exercise of seeing just how little they can put into their black bins during the month of June.

Re-use in Cambridge
Here are some items from local re-giving site, fridgemountain.com. Why trash it when someone else might want it?

My question is: How much we spend on landfill each year, and how much that would reduce for each extra 1% we recycle?
(we currently recycling only about 40% of our waste by weight - which is small I consider that what goes in my black bin is mainly plastic wrapping for things like pitta bread)
